Arnold E. Frahm

          

            Arnold Ernest Frahm, son of Henry and Linda Buhr Frahm, was born April 23, 1923, in Bremer County, Iowa. He attended rural school in Bremer County.

            On June 12, 1949, he was united in marriage with Betty Kolpek at the United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Arnold farmed his entire life near Sumner in Bremer County, Iowa.

            Arnold’s death occurred on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner. He was 87 years old.

            In addition to his wife, Betty of Sumner, he is survived by three sons, Larry, Steve, and Keith, all of Sumner; one daughter, Kathy Frahm of Cedar Falls; and three sisters, Darlys Varner of Waterloo, Virginia Knoploh of Ames, and Mariann Richards of Staten Island, New York.

           He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wilmer; and one sister, Josephine.

          Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2010, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in rural Sumner with Rev. Robert Treichel officiating. Friends may call for one hour preceding services at the church on Saturday. Mr. Frahm’s body was donated to the University of Iowa for anatomical research.
