Upon Graduation from Sumner High School in 1971, Larry entered the United States Army in 1972 and served until 1978. Following his discharge from service, he worked for several area farmers for ten years assisting in the milking operations, crop farming, and hog production. Larry worked for Abco Industries in Oelwein from 1988 to 1994, and subsequently Featherlite Trailers in Cresco from 1994 until his death.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Margaret (Wayne) Gonnerman of Sumner, Michael (Evelyn) Aubrey of Waverly, James (Sue) Aubrey of Waverly, Claudette (Virgil) Poock of Sumner, and Sherry (Michael) Nielsen of Sumner; and several nieces and nephews. Larry loved his nieces and nephews, and cherished the time with them at family gatherings. He loved playing cards, board games, watching movies, and country and western music. Larry was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Win or lose, he was cheering them on. Larry held a special place in all our hearts, and he will be greatly missed by those that knew him well.
