Deborah Elizabeth Buhr, daughter of Charles and Arlene McMinimee Morgan, was born February 18, 1948, at Oelwein, Iowa. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1966, and later attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette.
On August 31, 1968, she was united in marriage with LaVerne Buhr at St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek by Rev. Stoa. Deb worked at the First National Bank in Waverly prior to becoming a homemaker.
Following a lengthy illness with cancer, Deb’s death occurred at her home in rural Sumner on Thursday, November 26, 2009. She was 61 years old and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek. She especially loved gardening and quilting.
In addition to her husband, LaVerne, she is survived by one daughter, Tara Buhr of Prescott, Arizona; and one uncle, Howard McMinimee of Denison, Iowa.
Deb was preceded in death by her son, Michael, who died in 1996, and her parents.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church (Buck Creek), rural Sumner, Iowa conducted by Pastor Sandra Burroughs. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery, rural Sumner. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and one hour preceding services at the church on Monday. Memorials may be made in her name to St. John Lutheran Church, Buck Creek.
