Dickie T. Schott

 

Dickie Thomas Schott, son of John and Gladys Mabb Schott, was born November 13, 1934 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. He graduated from West Union High School in 1953. He was married to Charlotte Latham in 1954. They divorced in 1970.
            Dickie worked for many years at Weyerhauser in Cedar Rapids. He has been a resident of the Hillcrest Home in Sumner since November of 2007. His death occurred at Hillcrest on Sunday, November 15, 2009. He was 75 years old and at one time had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Hawkeye. He loved living in the country near Hawkeye. He also loved animals, especially dogs, going to flea markets, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
            He is survived by six children, Ted (Judy) Schott of Fredericksburg, Robert Schott of New Hampton, Terry Schott of Fredericksburg, Jeff Sheryl) Schott of Cedar Falls, Deanna Jarchow of Sumner, and Gary Schott of Maynard; eleven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
            He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son-in-law, Bruce Jarchow.

                Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the United Methodist Church in Hawkeye with Rev. Burt Williams officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye and for one hour preceding services at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Alpha Cemetery.
