Eloise Rose Siefried, daughter of Otto J. and Carolena Boevers Warneke, was born September 5, 1923, at Readlyn, Iowa. She was baptized in 1923, and confirmed in 1937, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Readlyn. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1940.

            On October 12, 1944, she was united in marriage with Ray Siegfried at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sumner. She had been employed at the First National Bank of Sumner and served many years as Secretary for the Sumner School Board.

            A resident of the Hillcrest Home in Sumner since January of 2008, Eloise’s death occurred there on Monday, October 4, 2010. She was 87 years old and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner where she had served on the finance committee. She also enjoyed bowling and played on several teams.

            Eloise is survived by her husband, Ray of Sumner; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marlys and Bob Duhrkopf of Sumner; and many nieces and nephews.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wallace; a sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Jim McAloon; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Sherwood Pleggenkuhle.

           Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Chapel in Sumner with Rev. William Runass, Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sumner.
