I worked in the library with Florine from 1995-1998 when I was the Admin Assistant for Anna Cairney. Although she and I didn't work together, I do remember her efficient way of filling requests for Interlibrary Loans - no matter how great the numbers. In particular, I remember her copying MANY "very large" books for a library who had lost much of their collection in a flood or fire. She was diligent & non-complaining in accomplishing this difficult task. I know first-hand what an excellent job Florine did in her position as the Interlibrary Loan Librarian. I had "big shoes to fill" when I succeeded her in 2001 when she retired to move back with Marv to her beloved Iowa where her family was...and also her heart. You have my deepest sympathy.

Dear Marv, Debbie, Alan and all of the family, I am sitting in Tech Services in the Benedictine College Library. I am looking at Florine's desk. I am remembering her quiet efficiency, her out-sized knowledge of this library collection, but, most of all, my friend. We spent many hours together. Laughing. Lifting the occasional eyebrow in shared, silent understanding. Being miffed at something worth being miffed about--or not. We have all lost a treasure of great price. The spirit groans. The spirit is lifted by her new life... Miriam O'Hare
