When I was a boy, my mother Dorothy M. Syverson, Bob's sister, told me that in school Cal Von Brandenburg was Bob's best friend. Cal was an ambulance driver, who was killed in the war, and is no doubt the Brandenburg the VFW post was so rightly named for.
