Dear Dad, It has been a month today that you went to be with our Lord. Believe me, it has been a real difficult month. I know that you are no longer having any more pain. I would dearly love to touch your hard-working hands and sit and chat with you. We are starting the road in life where we have to face our "firsts" without you Dad. That is hard. There are days when we have unanswered questions... we call out your name and through the work of God we can work through those "problems." Continue to look down upon us and guide us to do the right thing. We see you twinkling in the sky. I am sure that you are enjoying your time with Quentin and Grandpa and Grandma Hoppy. We are all looking forward to being joined together once again. I LOVE YOU DAD.

We are sure the loss of Ken is such a shock and it surely has saddened many as he has done so much for so many. We want to thank Marilyn and family for being behind him in all those diverse gifts of community services Ken did for all these years. It took a lot of cooperation on your part to get that all done! We have admired the work You and Ken offered Arc in Waverly for more than 20 years.

Marilyn and family, Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. We would have made the trip back to share those special memories and celebrate Ken's life had we only known sooner. You and Ken were very special people, not only to me, but I know my parents held the highest esteem for both of you. I will never forget those many years we shared New Years Eve together. Please extend my condolences to Nancy, Jeff, Mary, and Jayson. We were so close when we were all so young. It is a shame that years and miles have kept us apart for so long. Such fond memories I have. May God comfort you through this difficult time. And know that we'll be thinking of you.

My grandparents were Walter and Louise Reinking and my mom and dad are Donna and Arlen Brickman. We extend our deepest sympathy to your family. My mom was sorry they could not attend the visitation or funeral but my dad has been sick with a respiratory virus. Our daughter Katelyn showed chickens and Dave and Nancy were always so helpful at the fair. We are so very sorry for your loss.

Jeff and Diane and family...I am so sorry to read of your Dad's passing in tonight's paper. My Dad passed away in January of last year, so I know some of what your hearts are feeling. Please extend my sympathy to Scott and Brian, for I know how special Grandpas are to their Grandsons. Please take care and I will be thinking of you all.

It was my pleasure to know Ken when he served on the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation board of directors and the years after when he and Marilyn participated in meetings of former officers and directors of the state Farm Bureau. As a retired Farm Bureau staff member, I appreciated his leadership and judgement during my 38 years with the organization. My sympathy goes to Marilyn and other members of the Hoppenworth family.G
