Jacqueline Marie Noska, daughter of James and Eda Jones Niles, was born November 16, 1922, at Lakefield, Minnesota. She attended elementary school in Montana, graduated from West Union High School, and attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette for two years.
On November 4, 1941, she was united in marriage with Ernest Noska at Holy Name Catholic Church in West Union. The couple farmed in the Hawkeye area and Jacqueline also worked as a civil service worker in bookkeeping, clerical work, and medical records. The couple moved to Denver, Colorado in 1956, to Montrose, Colorado in 1974, and following Ernest’s death in 1985, Jacqueline moved to Tennessee. For the past several years, she has resided in both Tennessee and Iowa.
A resident of the Hillcrest Home in Sumner, Jacqueline’s death occurred on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo from complications following a fall. She was 88 years old.
Her survivors include three sons, Jim (Shirley) Noska of Arvada, Colorado, Bob (Marilyn) Noska of Aurora, Colorado, and Larry (Donna) Noska of Littleton, Colorado; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph, who died in 1954.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday May 7, 2011, at Victory Christian Church, 112 S. Pine, West Union, Iowa with Rev. Roland Waterman officiating. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner is in charge of arrangements.
