Jacob Linn Murray, son of Geri Thomas and Scott Murray, was born February 9, 1994, at Waterloo, Iowa.
A sophomore at Sumner-Fredericksburg High School, his death occurred on Friday, September 4, 2009, following an accident which occurred 3 1/2 miles southeast of Fredericksburg.
Survivors include his mother, Geri Thomas of rural Sumner; his father, Scott (Kaye) Murray of Elma; his special friend, Chandler Barnes of Fredericksburg; one sister, Kasey Murray at home in rural Sumner; his maternal grandparents, Jerry and Donna Thomas of Sumner; his paternal grandmother, Becky Murray of rural Tripoli; four step brothers, Casey Draper, Brian Roske, Justin Roske, and Adam Roske; and a step sister, Rebecca Draper.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Nathan Murray on January 23, 1993,and his paternal grandfather, Richard Murray on August 16, 2008.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at the United Methodist Church in Sumner with Rev. Shirley Hoffman Will officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 7, 2009, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one preceding services at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at Wilson Grove Cemetery in Sumner.
