Brian William Johnston, 50, of Fayette, died Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union, Iowa, after a lengthy illness.
Brian, the son of Henry William and Evelyn (Shaw) Johnston was born May 2, 1958 in Newport, Oregon. Brian served with the United States Marines Corps. He was united in marriage with Kimberly Capps on February 14, 1980. They later divorced. Brian was a truck driver for seventeen years. He also owned and operated Coast to Coast Forestry Company for four years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being a spontaneous person.
Brian is survived by his mother, Evelyn Nelson of Salem, Oregon; his special companion, Kelly Fox, of Fayette, Iowa; three children, Nathaniel Johnston, Matthew Johnston, and Rebecca Johnston, all of Salem, Oregon; one granddaughter, Amyah Miranda, of Salem, Oregon; two step children, Zachary and Bridgett Fox of Fayette, Iowa; one brother, Gregory (Vicki) Johnston of Little Rock, Arkansas; and two sisters, Rudeen (Tony) Bautista of St. Mary’s, Idaho; and Roxanne Johnston of Eugene, Oregon.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Bill Johnston, in December of 2007 and one brother who died in infancy.
There will be an inurnment at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon, at a later date.
