Judy and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. There is never a good time to loose someone you deeply love, no matter how old or ill. Memories and time will give comfort. Judy, you and Randy extended your house while we were on Ragbrai and treated us like royalty. We also very much enjoyed your cabin when we wanted to give Mom one last fishing trip. I will never forget your kindness and generosity that you and Randy extended to us. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family

Judy, We appreciate all the updates you provided during Randy's illness. We were getting ready to send another card, when we received the last update. We always think of the two of you when our plants (which we purchased from you) begin to shows signs of life after a long winter and the beautiful landscaping done for us. A wonderful person, always with a smile, will be missed by many. May God give all of you strength during this sad time.

Judy & family,

It's hard to understand why people are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing you were a special part of such a well-lived life. May happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time.

Randy's imagination, creativity and love of nature were an inspiration for many here in Sumner. He was always willing to judge the annual high school art show here at SFHS and when I would try to pay him for judging, he would reply "keep the money, get some the supplies for the kids - keep them creative, your doing good things" Those words were pretty meaningful to a young teacher - especially coming from a former art teacher himself. I feel I was fortunate to get to know him a little.

Once in a lifetime you meet someone in whom you have no doubt. You know that everything they touch will turn to gold. They have energy and talent beyond anything you could imagine. Randy was that person. He will be remembered as a great talent going above and beyond the norm- he raised the bar for all mankind. Keep his memory alive by encouraging creativity in everyone you see. I will miss every day of my life.

Randy Maifeld's artwork at WSR was inspirational. All of us underclassman looked up to him and his work. He was one of those "quiet leaders" that you are blessed to meet in your lifetime. Randy left this world a little more beautiful, and a lot more fun. Judy and Family our prayers will go out to you to give you comfort and peace in the loss of Randy. How blessed we are to believe in the Resurrection and to know that we will see him again.
