Richard S. Langerman

 

 

Richard Scott Langerman, the son of Richard and Barbara (Woodson) Langerman, was born July 5, 1973 in West Union, Iowa.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Hawkeye, Iowa.  Rick attended NorthFayetteHigh School and graduated from Clearfield, Utah as a certified welder.  He worked for many years at Northeast Iowa Whitewashing.  He truly enjoyed working with farmers in the area.  Rick also worked at Rockwell Automation in Sumner until July of 2006, when he was diagnosed with melanoma cancer.

            Richard’s death occurred Saturday, February 28, 2009 at his home in Hawkeye, from cancer.  He was thirty-five years old.  He loved to read, listen to classical music, work on his computer, fishing with his dad, and playing cards for many hours with his friends.

            Richard is survived by his parents, Richard L. and Barbara Langerman of Hawkeye, Iowa; one sister, Tammy (Duane) Smith of Lacey, Washington; two brothers, Jeremy (Nicole) Langerman of Atkins, Iowa; and Brian Langerman of Tiffin, Iowa; aunts; uncles; nephews; and many cousins.

            Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Bernice (Sniffin) Woodson and Ed and Neva Langerman.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Becker-Milnes Funeral Chapel, Hawkeye, Iowa conducted by Rev. Jim Brokman. Private Family Inurnment will be at the HawkeyeCemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the funeral home in Hawkeye.
