Terry Michael Adler, son of Max and LaVonne Flanery Adler, was born June 12, 1948, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
On August 16, 1969, he was united in marriage with April Potratz at the First Baptist Church in Sumner. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Aurora, Colorado. For the past 25 years Terry has been employed as a fork lift operator at Albertson’s Grocery Warehouse in Aurora.
Following a lengthy illness, his death occurred unexpectedly on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at Porter Hospital in Littleton., Colorado. He was 61 years old and had been a longtime member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed goose hunting and loved sports, especially the Denver Broncos (a longtime season ticket holder) and Notre Dame Football.
In addition to his wife, April of Aurora, Colorado, he is survived by three children, Shannon (Ruben) Chavez, Bryson (Shana) Adler, and Ashley (Alex) Ortiz, all of Aurora, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Ashlee Rae, Austin, Kaelie, Hannah, Cole, Ethan, and Devan; his parents, Max and LaVonne Adler of Sioux Falls; one brother, David (Patti) Adler of Bellville, Illinois; and three sisters, Barb (Curt) Harris of Evergreen, Colorado, Karen (Roger) Nester of Brandon, South Dakota, and MaryKay (Dan) Kaiser of Valley Springs, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mildred and George Flanery, and Hans and Louisa Adler.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Sumner with Rev. Victor Lehman and Rev. Bob Burchfield officiating. Burial will be immediately following in Wilson Grove Cemetery in Sumner. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Friday.
