Ethel E. Voshell

                Ethel was born the daughter of Edward H. and Mary Leistickow Neumann on September 14, 1911, in Windsor Township of Fayette County, Iowa. She attended rural school in Windsor Township.

               She was united in marriage with Paul Voshell on October 15, 1939, at Zion Lutheran Church in West Union. The couple farmed in the Fayette area for many years prior to moving to town in 1972. Mr. Voshell’s death occurred on June 30, 1986.

               A resident of Maple Crest Manor in Fayette for the past several years, her death occurred there on Thursday, July 22, 2010. She was 98 years old and had been a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette. She had also been active in the Rural Improvement Club, the September Birthday Club, and volunteered at the senior citizen mealsite.

               Ethel is surived by three sons, Duane (Carolyn) Voshell of Cedar Rapids, Gary (Barb) Voshell of Peoria, Arizona, and Lowell (Theresa) Voshell of Fayette; four grandchildren, Allison and Josie Voshell, Valerie (Dominic) Giegerich, and Anita (Josh) Davis; two great grandchildren, Collin and Halie Giegerich; and one sister, Hazel (Bud) Jensen of West Union.

               In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Neumann; and three sisters, Mildred Osmundson, Irene Dumermuth, and Erma Neumann.

            Funeral Services for Ethel will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church of Fayette.  Rev. Timothy Parker will be the officiant. Friends may call for one hour before services at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, on Tuesday. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery. The family suggests that friends may, if they wish, make memorial contributions in her name to Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette.
